The best locations for a sailing vacation

Wherever there is an expanse of water you will probably find there are boats to sail on it! There are however some parts of the world where charter firms are more set up to offer sailing vacations than others.

The Caribbean offers warm weather, deep blue seas and many charter firms. The lush islands offer some great sailing opportunities and there are many charter firms to choose from. Avoid late July to October, which is hurricane time.

The Bahamas , situated just 45 miles from Miami, have similar advantages to the Caribbean. The islands are perhaps less green, but the water is very clear, so clear that you can see the sand beneath the boat as you sail along. The hurricane season between July and November.

If Europe is closer to home there are a great number of areas to choose from, including the Mediterranean areas of Spain France and Greece. The UK offers a great variety of sailing although the weather is often not as inviting as that of other warmer climes.
