The best boat for your sailing holiday

The size of a sailing boat is a good starting point, although different layouts can make a 35 footer seem much larger or a bad layout make a 40 foot sailing boat seem much smaller.

But also take into account the number of people on the trip and the number of berths that each boat provides. A boat can seem very small very quickly if too overcrowded. In many boats the kitchen table converts to an additional berth. Whilst this is great in terms of extra sleeping space, it does mean that the main hull area can not be used when the person in that bed wants to get to sleep.

The moral is look at the layout plans for each of the boats available and choose one that seems to fit your required living needs.
