Catamaran Sailing

Catamarans are two hulled sailing boats, with the living accommodation spanning the space between the outer hulls.

In general, catamaran sailing is faster, but much roomier than in a similar sized monohull sailing boat. As well as larger accommodation, there is much more deck space, ideal for sunning or sprawling around on.

Because there are two hulls, the stability is better than a single hull yacht, and they tend to heel (tip over towards the water) far less.

Catamarans do have some downsides, reacting more slowly to the rudder and having a larger turning circle but these are both factors that familiar monohull sailors can adapt to relatively easily.
