Windsurfing

There can be nothing more exhilarating than to control the wind pulling at the sail of your windsurfer and feel the board accelerate beneath your feet.

Windsurfing is a sport that is easy to start and can give rewards almost straight away. Windsurfing is also a sport that can be enormously difficult to master, beyond the basics.

The best advice, as with many sports is to start! There are many schools either on inland lakes or on quieter coastal areas that can hire out the equipment needed - a board, sail and wetsuit (for colder climates) along with providing lessons for beginners

To help get your balance a land based board may be available - this is mounted on a gimbaled system that mimics the effect of the board on water. If you fall off however you don't get wet!
