UK Sailing Vacations

England, Scotland and Ireland

You can’t guarantee the weather that you can in the Caribbean or the Bahamas, but that does not mean that there isn’t some great sailing to be had around the British Isles, for all levels of experience.

The Scottish coast and the Hebridean Islands offer some challenging sailing, whilst the inner Lochs offer more tranquil environments. The best time is between May or June, although the season lasts from April to September.

A popular sailing area is that of the English Channel with trips to or from France only a 65 mile trip in places. Then there are the Channel Islands to explore. Generally with warmer weather these islands are delightful, but the sailing can be hazardous with strong currents and changeable weather.

The south coast of Ireland holds some treasures to explore, although again there can be some harder sailing on the open coastal waters.
